What a gorgeous peek behind the digital curtain of animation。You don't have to be a fan of the FX TV series Archer to appreciate the lush beauty and attention to detail of the team of artists and designers that bring it to the screen。 Although the show, basically a spoof of high-tech spy thrillers, is smart and funny and worth watching。The book breaks down the design and evolution of various characters and key scenes in the program。 And it points out how subtle adjustments to light and shadow an What a gorgeous peek behind the digital curtain of animation。You don't have to be a fan of the FX TV series Archer to appreciate the lush beauty and attention to detail of the team of artists and designers that bring it to the screen。 Although the show, basically a spoof of high-tech spy thrillers, is smart and funny and worth watching。The book breaks down the design and evolution of various characters and key scenes in the program。 And it points out how subtle adjustments to light and shadow and perspective can affect the mood of a scene。The biggest takeaway for me in any behind-the-scenes book is the reminder that for every minute of entertainment you casually binge through, there are hundreds of talented artists and creators that make it real。 From every small independent short film to every ultra-complex video game to every book you hold in your hand, the details of your experience are not random。 They are intentional, and they are crafted with talent and passion。--- Keith O'DFind this book and other titles within our catalog。 。。。more

A must-read for all serious Archer fans (and casual fans as well)。 This book is an interesting behind-the-scenes look at the making of the show, and it had me laughing out loud a number of times as it revisited some of the (largely inappropriate) jokes。

Great artwork and some interesting background and stories, but the interviews almost all suffer from the usual sycophantic praise heaped on coworkers that is typical of Hollywood (notwithstanding this crew is from Georgia)。Archer fans will love it。

A very lavish and lovely look at all the effort and talent that goes into making Archer, from the technical and creative process to the voice artists。

If you aren't a fan of this show, 1) you are broken and 2) get your head out of your ass!If you ARE a fan of this show, 1) you are broken and 2) Phrasing! This book is gorgeous and fascinating。 Explains the details that go into the animation, set design, lighting, costumes, and DVD extras to such an extent that now I have to go back and re-watch all the episodes to pick up on the things that I apparently missed! A truly amazing look behind the scenes at the creative process that consistently produces a stylish, engaging show。

Jefferson

A nicely designed and illustrated book that reads like a DVD extra on the making of the show (not a bad thing)。

I love books and I love film, put them together and I'm probably one of the most content people on earth。 The Art of Archer (as well as many different books about film) gives an insight I truly wouldn't want to miss。 Archer, to me, is not really a show I have to think about a lot, but now after reading this book, I found out that if I was maybe paying more attention I would have seen so much more。 So that's what I'm going to do next season for sure, haha。 I really enjoy reading about the work th I love books and I love film, put them together and I'm probably one of the most content people on earth。 The Art of Archer (as well as many different books about film) gives an insight I truly wouldn't want to miss。 Archer, to me, is not really a show I have to think about a lot, but now after reading this book, I found out that if I was maybe paying more attention I would have seen so much more。 So that's what I'm going to do next season for sure, haha。 I really enjoy reading about the work the artists do to get an episode ready, to find out which programs they use and how they build their layers to make the characters' movements or fix the lighting。 I truly love it。 Getting to know about the work that goes into an episode, to get to know little inside jokes and to just understand everything even better。 Yea, if you love Archer, you are for sure going to love this。 。。。more

It's possible that I've always been distracted by how funny this show is, but reading about the amount of work that goes into producing the beautiful settings, the thought that goes into the animation, to the point that the animators literally act out scenes and photograph themselves to get a better handle on the range of motion - really gives me a greater appreciation for this show。 It's not all about clever literary references! If you love Archer ( if you don't you're wrong) then you absolutely need this book。 It gave me so much insight to a show I already love that I love it even more。 I am beyond impressed at how much work really goes into this show。 If you love Archer ( if you don't you're wrong) then you absolutely need this book。 It gave me so much insight to a show I already love that I love it even more。 I am beyond impressed at how much work really goes into this show。 。。。more

Archer is either the most brilliantly satirical show on TV or utter profane nonsense I think it's amazing and so funny that I am routinely reduced to tearsThis book is filled with gorgeous art from the showas well as an in depth look at the development of the seriesA great look behind the scenes of the best cartoon(for adults) on TV Archer is either the most brilliantly satirical show on TV or utter profane nonsense I think it's amazing and so funny that I am routinely reduced to tearsThis book is filled with gorgeous art from the showas well as an in depth look at the development of the seriesA great look behind the scenes of the best cartoon(for adults) on TV 。。。more
